SICK COMPANION, NC SATE CAMPUS, and TEACHING SUNDAY SCHOOL
what up my family!
this week had its ups and downs...elder svoboda got sick on thursday night (stomach virus or something) and started throwing up and so friday he stayed in bed all day and slept to get feeling better. so i just relaxed and read the whole book at matthew haha. but he is feeling better now and we have been out working which is great! and on wednesday i went on exchanges with one of the Zone leaders to the NC state campus! Elder Olson is the man! so it was so tight to be able to contact some college students and actually talk with people my age and have intelligent conversations haha. it was a good experience though for real, he taught me a lot about contacting and really working with the holy ghost. we had an appointment with this guy named geovani...and gave a really good lesson on prayer. but this isn’t what we originally planned. so we really had to rely on the spirit for what we should teach. and it was amazing to actually feel the holy ghost guiding me what to say when it came my turn to give the part of the lesson it was LEGIT!! but being up on the NC state campus was fun and really a great learning experience, especially from a zone leader.
its black "saturday" not sunday haha, but yes i get to kill elder svoboda which will be fun haha. it’s crazy he has 4 more months on his mission haha. and yes i love the track bag! thank you for finding it. because my backpack would cover my whole back and i got really sweaty. so the track bag is legit. so if you look on my card spending i did buy some scriptures, but for a really good cause! i personalized them to go with the lessons and such, so i didn’t spend a little bit of money... And i made the oreos for the Young family, and they LOVED them! i mean who wouldn’t like those home-made oreos, i’m making them again for this thursday haha. and i plan on making my swedish pancakes the morning of general conference, aka the missionary SUPERBOWL haha. and elder svoboda is going to make me dinner haha so I’m stoked! haha so you have the 35 chinese restaurant thing haha. thats what the name of the restaurant is haha not the number of chinese places here haha. i actually did feel one cold coming on but the good ol EMERGEN-C! saved my life, after 2 days GONE! so i love that stuff im a walking testimony of that fo show! and yes mom im taking my vits everyday, and i LOVE the sheets, i won’t sleep in anything different anymore the rest of my life! yeah MArch is flying by for me! it’s almost the end of march, how crazy is it???!! i just need couple more things sent to me then im done for awhile i promise haha, i need 3 garment tops. Medium cotton-poly! and thats it! we had 2 cool appointments this week with "gators" who wants a BofM and we talked about it with them and are very excited to read it. one of them is Peter and the other Emily (she lives in our apartment complex). but they are both excited to get reading on it and well follow up with them in like a week and see how that is going and challenge them to pray and ask the truth about it ya know how us missionaries do haha. the March Madness is heating up out here. i hear duke and unc are still in it. a member actually dropped off a Bracket to me last monday haha, so i filled it out and gave it to him at church yesterday and he marked it if i was right or wrong, and my bracket is terrible but i called some good upsets. Speaking of church, i taught the lesson in gospel principles! it was AMAZING! i taught about the life of Jesus Christ, and i had very good participation and it was very spiritual, so my time is almost up on the computer so until next time! i love you guys so much and i miss you!

A LOT OF TRACTING AND RAIN
FAM BAM
alright so today our p-day is cut short again because were doing the week or miracles again! so we only have pday till one again today, but i will actually give a full email unlike last week of miracle email. so we have 5 gators were working with. Nicholas the native american from past emails, Nick and family, Kiesha and husband (they were a media referral), James (we tracted into him saturday and have appt tomorrow with him) and Johnathan (he loves history so we gave him a b of m and talk about the history of it and he is really interested and has no religious background so i think he will be golden! And yesterday a young man in the ward Kendrick brought a friend to church and came to class and everything, so i told him to text her so she can come next sunday because i’m going to teach the lesson next sunday in gospel principles ha-ha. i know i’m legit!!! yeah it is sad about bobbie, but i wasn’t there for the last meeting with her, because we were on companion exchanges, so i went to the cary 2nd area and teamed up with elder Glines. he is WAY cool we had fun that day preaching this gospel! we contacted like 25 people that day ha-ha. and we checked out the NC State campus so when i send the pics next you’ll see those. but i forgot to tell you, we had "black saturday" which is the night that we find out if we get transfered to a different area. and both elder Svoboda and i are staying, so yes Svoboda is staying here the rest of his mission and i get to "kill him" :) there is so much mission terminology ha-ha. GRACIAS! yeah, that meeting with that guy about emergency preparedness was interesting, we actually got into some deep doctrine too, like about the 2nd coming and such and his interpretation on it, but we answered some questions and what the mormon view on the 2nd coming is, so it was interesting but cool. and the place he took us was LEGIT. 35 Chinese Restaurant. ha-ha so finally you get a laptop! so do you even use the other computer? or does the laptop just chill where the old computer was?
OOOHHH send the homemade oreo recipe like ASAP!!! like i need it by wednesday! i am making dessert for 2 dinners this week ha-ha. THANK YOU! but this whole weekend it was raining like crazy, so we took advantage and knocked a lot of doors, and met a lot of nice people, but only got one gator out of it, but the elect are out there and were going to find them on way or another! one of the guys we met, Skip, works for Marriot, so he has met Bro. Marriot and knows about the gospel, so we challenged him to read the b of m and pray about it, and shared with him Moroni's promise! so that would be sweet if he calls us and wants to learn more ha-ha. and we contacted this one lady with an Animal shirt (Ryan will appreciate that haha) she was way cool and seems pretty interested, but we left her with the restoration pamphlet and told her if she has any questions to call us. but we have a lot of dinners this week so hopefully those dinners will turn into gators with the people the members will invite to the dinner :) again i just love the spirit here on the mission and oh ya DUKE won the ACC ship ha-ha. every house we knocked saturday and sunday people were watching the game, so we found out who won, shocking about UNC getting knocked off by dads SEMINOLES! bet he was stoked about that ha-ha. well i love you guys so much! and i miss you!! i love the spirit that i get to see in peoples eyes when i talk about this gospel, and family i have a commitment for yall.
Will YOU pray for missionary opportunities and act upon them and share this gospel with others???
give me report ha-ha. LOVE YOU!

MANY APPOINTMENTS AND THE UFO CAKE HA-HA
fam!
what’s going on ya'll? well this week has been crazy! there has been a lot of good this week and only one bad...so we have this one investigator named Bobbie and we taught her the first and second lesson this week and everything was going great. she was reading the stuff we left for her and we thought she was golden and she was going to come to church yesterday. so i called her last saturday night to confirm her coming and she said that she wants to have one last visit with us and give us the b of m back. because she has a boyfriend/fiance who doesn’t think too highly of the church so she is going to drop us because of him! man i was so bitter. So for our last appointment with her were going to hit on praying to know the truth so that there is no way that she can deny it. so that was disappointing but it’s ok. and the Hayes family has not been keeping commitments such as reading, praying and going to church so were gonna meet with them one last night this week also and get their concerns and tell then nicely that were going to have to drop them because of no progress. it’s sad but it has to be done...ANYWHO on the happier side ha-ha we got 5 new investigators this week! ha-ha! so we have appointments set up with them and ill let you know next week which ones stand out to us! Elder Nelson (AP) came out and worked with elder svoboda and i one day this week and that went great! we got 2 new investigators while he was with us that one day. one of those gators was actually going to have lunch with. his name is Molotov he works for some media business and he actually approached us in his car and said Are you guys the mormons? and we said yes, and he said I need to talk to you. so we thought we were heading into a bible bash or something but he respects us a lot and wants to know about our food storage and emergency preparedness program that we have. so today he's taking us to lunch and was going to talk about that with him ha-ha.

we have had some great dinners this week! we volunteered to make a dessert. The UFO Cake check it out on the left..HA-ha. one of them was with the Turner family and the husband is the 1st counselor in the Stake presidency. so check this...the president, 1st and 2nd counselor in the stake presidency are all from our ward ha-ha. but that dinner went well his son kendrick brought a friend over that is jewish and so we just shared a scriptural thought and i guess that result from that is he liked it and would like to have dinner with us there again! so i’m stoked that we left a great impression. yesterday was the ward conference which went really good! and one of our investigators came to church! His name is Brian and has been investigating the church for 16 years! he is part of a Part member family. his family is active and he is not a member. on thursday we visited with him and his family. and we hope that he doesn’t hate us. We asked him questions that really made him think deep about the gospel and what is keeping him from joining the church. He simply states that he isn’t ready and doesn’t feel the need to pray to know the truth and join the church...its sad to hear that for real. His problem of drinking is holding him back too his wife said. and this is sad, her daughter just turned 8 and she is not going to get baptized until her dad does it or until the last day until she turns 9. That killed me to hear...it’s so sad but that just explains how hard life is right now. But he was at church so we figured that was good but we just don’t know how he feels toward us right now ha-ha. this family has 4 daughters and one boy. and have one girl and one boy who aren’t baptized yet due to age, so i wish he could just know how amazing it could feel to baptize his children. There really isn’t much we can do now, he has heard the lessons numerous times and knows what he needs to do, but he doesn’t see the reason why he needs to do it, and he lacks determination greatly! so all we can do is pray and just stop by now and then and share messages to the family. he is a great guy and really cool to talk to and really funny just has that drinking problem and others probably that he didn’t tell us. so it has been getting up to 80 degrees! and we have a suit coat season. we have to wear our suites full time until general conference!!! unless it gets over 75 degrees then we can take them off for the day. so from general conference to novemberish we don’t have to wear them except to meetings or unless were cold ha-ha....so i’m hoping the new mission president changes that rule ha-ha. because the other day it was like 70 and just sweating in the suits ha-ha. so i need you guys to send more short sleeve shirts! and i might send a couple long sleeve ones home, because there is no need for them. or do you want me to buy some myself next p-day? i just need to buy like 3 more so i can have 8 shirts. one more thing to send...and you may have to dip through my boxes a little bit. My Nike bag that i used for track (the small black one that has laces for shoulder straps) and it has the Nike football code on it. and on the back it should have 2 number stickers on it from my lane assignments from track. when it gets hotter that will be GREAT! because the backpack right now covers my whole back and it gets moist ha-ha. so please do so and that would be great. and did you tell ashley my cd idea? she can put on there any church related songs because she is a mormon artist :) so that is it! kind of shocked i didn’t get a letter from mom but i did get dads! how are the jazz doing? yeah that’s sad about larry h miller. sounds like my room is going to be looking great ha-ha. and the family picture preview looks great! send me one when you get them! and did you get my missionary pics sent to those i requested? well i love you family! i miss you. and love you some more!!!!

Me and Elder Lindstrom after a morning run in the rain.

SNOW IN NORTH CAROLINA??? YES INDEED! ZONE CONF.
FAM BAM!!
well today i woke up and looked outside before we were going to head to the gym and snow was
there ha-ha! it was way cool to see that! the roads are empty and no one likes to drive in the snow ha-ha, and they cancel school so easily just because of snow, its crazy ha-ha!!but yeah Nicholas is going good, we had an appt with him last week and he canceled, he is going through some hard times, but he said to call him today and set something up. well the hayes family is a difficult story...so robin had brain surgery couple years back, and it’s difficult for her to understand things. and the only reason why todd (husband) started listening to our discussions was because he was just curious and making sure we weren't trying to do anything weird with robin. and they aren’t keeping commitments...they haven’t prayed to know the truth yet, and we have extended that commitment like 3 times and also to come to church like 2 times and they haven’t done a thing. So were going to meet with them sometime this week and explain to them that they aren’t progressing or keeping commitments and find our their concerns and hope fully we wont have to drop them. but they lesson did go well in the members home with them, but we just need to find out if they are even like interested or whatever ya know. so it’s a confusing situation but by next week we should have it straightened out and explain whets going on better. Zane is doing great he pretty much has like 2 baptisms a week it sounds like, but he is just lost in the work for real. No Elder svoboda doesn’t have an accent ha-ha, but he can understand some of the weird lingo that they say though, but i won’t experience that until i’m actually out in the country or real North Carolina people say around here. nope no weight gain-age for me, i’m still around my 170ish...if i do gain it will be muscle baby!!! we have done a lot of service actually. this one lady Sis Prediger we do a lot of service for her mainly consists of chopping wood (you might as well call me Paul Bonyon) because i’m pro at chopping wood now. and rake leaves and pine needles we do that one a lot for service for other people. well this week wasn't our best week ever...we didn’t do that well number wise and such but we did set up a lot of appts with less active members. and set up dinners with members where non-members will be present so we can teach them. so we worked with members a lot this week because tracting in this area doesn't work, people here are stubborn ya know, so we met with a lot of members and set up appts to stop by and talk about missionary work and all of that jazz.
but wednesday we had Zone Conference!!! it was so sweet guys. i have never felt the spirit so strong before, it was amazing. the talks, testimonies and just everything that was said seemed to somehow help me out and give me that kick in the butt and want to do this work 200%!! it was great i gave the closing prayer :) President and Sis Wallis gave great talks and really inspired me.
Pics to the right..Me Elder Koehler & Hill and Me and AP Elder Jensen. while there we were able to talk to some missionaries who were in our area 2 transfers ago and they really helped us out and they said to work with the members because tracting can work but its so much better to work with the members so that’s what we did last week and now we have appts set up with members to talk and gain trust back. because from what we hear from them (the 2 missionaries we talked to) and members of the ward the last set of missionaries lost the trust of members and really slacked off, that’s why we both were "white washed" into the area to try and turn this area around, so its been tough for sure last week was really tough for us but this week is gong to be good for us. but a talk that Pres Deaver gave (one of the mission counselors) said that it doesn't matter the circumstances that we are in, it matters what circumstances that we will make! so we are not going to blame anyone but were going to push forward and work harder, pray harder, everything HARDER!! and turn this place around and make this a LEGIT area for sure! i know that this is the TRUE church and that only through his name we can be saved and lifted up while we are discouraged. this week i was a living example of that. turned down by so many people it just kills me they are rejected this message that will save their lives, but i did my work, i planted the seed and i just need to look up to my heavenly father for strength and press forward harder than before and know that i am doing the work he wants me to.
i miss you guys so much! i am always thinking of you guys especially when we teach about families and i know how lucky i am to be able to live with you guys forever and all eternity! i love you with all my heart!!!! until next time peace be with you.
PEACE OUT MY LEGIT FAMILY!!
