BAPTISM WEEK!

This week is baptism week!!!! This week was pretty sweet! Marcella is doing great, but I tell you what… Satan is working on her because she is going to be a member of the true church!!

We received a referral from Jimmy, he is from Mount Olive ward, and works in our area. We taught her on Thursday night, it was a GREAT lesson and she even came to Stake Conference yesterday as well! We’re going to stop by Jimmy’s this week and see how she liked it. She is looking for a church that she can be a part of and something for her baby to grow up in, so what better church eh ha-ha!!

Good news! We were able to get up with Anthony again, he just has been way sick for awhile, but were going to meet with him hopefully this week and invite him to the baptism!

Elder Cornish, member of one of the area 70's, presided at our Stake Conference. He is a really good speaker and funny! Marcella liked him! His topic was bringing people back to the fold, less actives and folks like that, but it was pretty legit!

I miss and love you, and hope everything is going well!

TEMPLE TRIP & BAPTISM IS STILL ON!

Everything here is doing great! President Cotterell has been making a lot of changes in the mission, we don’t keep count of how many people we contact, and we don’t keep track of our lightning visits with members. Instead of the DL's calling us every night, we have to call them now so it’ll take some getting used to.

The temple trip was great!! We attended the 9:00 am session on Friday morning and it was such a legit feeling! Before we were leaving President Cotterell pulled me and Elder Harmon aside and said there is not going to be a "black Saturday" for us, meaning were not getting transferred so I will be here for Marcella's baptism!! 2 more weeks and it will be happening! This coming Sunday is our Stake Conference, so that will be great to go to.

Marcella is doing great. She came to church of course yesterday and loved it! During the investigator class since it was just us 3 and Bro Belvan (ward mission leader) we talked about her baptism and some possibilities for who can gives talks and such. She is doing great and her mom is interested now! We called her one night and talked to her and she mentioned that her mom has been asking questions and getting really interested with what’s going on and we talked to Marcella Saturday night and she said after my baptism we'll jump on Mom ha-ha!
BROTHER LISTER'S BIRTHDAY
Rhonda...she called us during church yesterday and told us that she has been pondering and praying about what she should do and told us that she feels comfortable in her own church right now...she gave us a lot of appreciation for what we have done and told us we're always welcome and mentioned that when she continues to pray about church she will always keep us in mind. We’re going to invite her to our baptism of Marcella and church that next Sunday still. It’s sad and hard to do, but the Lord has prepared other people for us, so this next transfer that's what we will be doing and finding those people!

I hope everything is sick wit it and doing well. You’re always in my prayers.

ZONE CONFERENCE & OH YEAH …A BAPTISM SET!!!!!!

We had Zone conference last week and that was great! It’s always great to get a spiritual motivation and learn some new ways and how we should be doing things in the mission. The other elders moved out of the apartment, so its just me and Harmon in the huge apartment, we have so much room in there now and its pretty quiet without them there now. This Friday is our Temple trip!! I’m stoked for that. It will be a 2 hour drive down there and back to Apex right by my last area CARY! It will be cool to see the area again.OUR DISTRICT
Marcella ...are you ready to read this?? She is going to be baptized on September 5!!!!! During our appointment with her on Friday, she was telling us how she wanted to bare her Testimony on the next Fast Sunday. I asked Marcella if she would like to do that as a newly baptized member of the church, and she said YES! We are so STOKED for her!! We finished the lessons with her and we even went over the baptismal interview questions and she could be baptized tomorrow ha-ha. Marcella said she wants me to baptize her and Harmon is going to confirm her! WOO haha!

We Rhonda got her to church on Sunday! She was only able to stay for sacrament, but either way we got her there! We have a lesson with her on Tuesday and we will see how she liked church and what we should do from there! She mentioned to me that she would want to come back and go to the rest of church.

Adam...it’s a bitter sweet for him. He doesn’t want to continue with teaching right now. He said he wants to be a member of our church but doesn’t feel that the time is right. We told him to keep reading and praying and he has our number if he needs anything.

Anthony. Linda. Zee yes they have been dropped for awhile now. It’s sad but it was due to lack of interest, not keeping appointments, etc. We raised that warning voice to them so they know about the church. I hope, maybe future missionaries will contact them and then they may be ready for the Gospel.

Exercise is going well. Kind of slacking off a little bit, because last week we had a lot of stuff to do in the mornings service wise, so we didn’t get to work out that much. I made a little workout routine for each morning. I am determined to some what stay in shape ha-ha. Our camel paks are LEGIT! They are so small and lite. It can fit what we need to be carrying around. The bladder has some sweet insulator that keeps the water cold! Its high-tec! This week we have 4 dinners in a row so we definitely need to be doing those workouts and work off all of the dinners we will be getting.

I hope everything is going well for you all!

CONTINUING IN FAITH AND RAIN

First off, thank you for the package, I love getting them goodies! So we got hooked up with a SICK camel-pak from Bro Hruby (He is like #1 or 2 in head command of the base here in G'boro) they are sweet and have the air force camo on it, I’ll send pics.

We went over to our meal coordinators house yesterday and we have 2 dinners a week lined up now. She is a way cool lady and she is less active so we chilled with her for a little bit and played this game called "ninja" with her and her kids, it was fun ha-ha. She made us some BOMB Zucchini bread and the frosting she made was CELESTIAL heaven like! It was SO good I can’t even get over it.

Nothing really changed this week, Rhonda...we are kind of stretching her right now. She called us Saturday night and told us she would come to sacrament and would have to leave right after, but she never showed...so we'll see if she will commit herself to come next Sunday. She has called every now and then to see how were doing, and one night I talked to her for like 30 minutes about random stuff and we were sharing favorite scriptures over the phone. It was chill! You know building trust, I guess, ya know.

Marcella, so she lost her job...but she pretty much got set up. She is such a strong woman; she has a lot of faith, and knows that there is always a reason behind what happens. She told us that she would have a job by Tuesday, so if you could add her to your prayers that would be great. She is strong and still knows the Book of Mormon is true and pretty much is already a Mormon ha-ha.

Adam, nothing really changed, he didn’t come to church again, and we had to cancel our appointment, because he said he had a lot of stuff to take care of. He won’t be getting away that easy. He still wants to meet with us next week so we’re looking forward to that and I’m just going to call him till he answers on Sunday morning and get him out there for sure!

So one random story...we were driving last night through a sketchy part of town and saw these 4 guys outside preaching to the world! They had 4 HUGE speakers all the way up and you could hear them like a mile away. We decided to stop and talk to them. It was fun, we just said who we were and sat in on some guy screaming his heart out about Jesus and man, it was nuts. We just talked to couple of them real quick and peaced up out of there. It was very interesting ha-ha.

So when it’s raining we're just like the post office...whether rain, sleet, or snow, we're out there doing the Lord's work.

Have a SICK WIT IT week!

A LOT OF RAIN & A LITTLE DISCOURAGEMENT

This week was pretty good. It rained a lot! So that killed a lot of our plans of contacting and finding more people to teach.
(VIDEO) RAIN RAIN GO AWAY.....
SOAKED DURING OUR BIKE RIDE HOME

Rhonda...we had a lesson with her, and its was the 3rd lesson (gospel of Jesus Christ) and really hit hard on baptism and preparing her...so it was a make or brake lesson pretty much and at the end I told her to really pray about it and come to church on Sunday so she can help get her answer and she agreed and would really ponder it. But bad news...she didn’t come to church and we haven’t gotten a hold of her yet to figure out where she stands on wanting to progress. So next visit this week sometime we will ask her where she stands. …..so a lot of praying and fasting last week and this week.

Adam, he didn’t make it to church. So that kind of stunk to not see him as well but we will get up with him next Sunday and hopefully get him to church. So this week I have been really tested on keeping my faith high and getting through discouragement, and really learning to rely on Christ and his love and getting through the hard times. Today for study I read the talk by President Monson "Be of Good Cheer". Wow that talk was amazing and just made me think of my week compared to the three different stories that he told in his talk. My week was nothing to what all those people had to endure especially the lady that had to bury all of her dead children with a spoon and her bare hands in the freezing cold ground. That talk was great and came at a good time.

Marcella is doing GREAT! She is paying her tithing and has already received blessings from doing so, she received a dollar raise at work, and she has gone from smoking a carton a week to only 3 packs, and she is going down more! And yesterday around 8-ish she called and asked is non-member could bare their testimony on fast Sundays, and I told her of course and said she wants to bare hers next fast Sunday! But were totally going to try and set a goal/date for her for the 5th of September! So next fast Sunday she can bare her testimony as a new member! Hopefully we can do that! We have a dinner/lesson with her tonight, so be praying we can set that date with her! :) She is just great, just seeing how she is progressing makes everything else that happened this week AMAZING! She told me on the phone "I know that the book of Mormon is true" and I have never smiled so big in my life! It was LEGIT, SICK WIT IT, BALLIN SWEET, GNARLEY, RAD, and TIGHT! Everything you can imagine me saying ha-ha.
