MISSION TOUR/ZONE CONFERENCE W/ELDER RICHARD J MAYNES

This week was pretty sick! We had the Mission Tour! This is what I know about it. A General Authority comes and checks out the mission and makes sure everything is going well, and it’s like a normal Zone Conference for us, but instead the GA in our case was Elder Richard J Maynes of the 70, he talked for like 3 straight hours but it was SWEET! He comes and hangs out with President Cotterell and goes to some meetings and goes to the Zone Conferences and talks. That is what a mission tour is! I did learn a lot from him. He was pretty funny too not going to lie.
DOORNOB IN THE MIDDLE????
We had a lot of potential gators (investigators) were going to be teaching this week! The appointment with Ken went really well, we went over the first lesson and watched the Restoration with him, and he liked it, so we'll be seeing him this week, and we are going to invite him to General Conference Priesthood session or something this weekend. General Conference WOOO! I’m stoked for it! we saw Betty on Saturday, we couldn’t meet with her long, she has been going through some rough times and a lot of relatives have been passing away, so we gave her a blessing and that made her feel really good! We are going to show her the Together Forever video and invite her to General Conference too. Everything has been going well; we're going to see how these potentials will do with our first visits. Most of them are Media referrals for Bibles, Book of Mormon, and videos. I’m stoked for them; a couple of them have some sweet potential, so be praying :) We're coming up on the end of this transfer, this week is week 6! It’s most likely that I’ll be staying one more transfer here and I don’t feel like it’s my turn to leave yet.

Well I hope everything is going well with you and I miss you and love you guys so MUCH!!

MISSION TOUR

The past week was pretty chill! This week we have the Mission Tour, Elder Maynes, from the First Group of the 70s is going to be here and it’s going to be great!

This week we only got up with a few of our gators (short for investigators) and everything is going well with them. Some were out of town, so we’re getting up with a lot of them this week. Saturday we decided to do some random tracting and picked this little complex on a street. The first house we knock on...a man let us in and we taught a first discussion on the spot. It was COOL! he works in the Air Force, Ken is his name, and he actually works with a member our of ward Brother Rhodehouse, so that is pretty crazy, were going to see him on Thursday with Brother Rhodehouse and see how interested he is! So that was legit.

Alright, so on Saturday night...we went to Cherry Hospital, aka... psychiatric hospital, definitely a first for that! A less active member in our ward is in there and his mom asked us to visit him, so we did. Friday night, we went to a tent revival ha-ha! there was drums and keyboards, and the guy was just going crazy and singing about Jesus and everything, but that was pretty interesting, the main guy who runs it works at the Recreation Center (where we do service on Fridays) so he always tells us about these things he does, so it’s fun and again a first for everything. Ha-ha.

ME, CLARK & ELDER HARMON
Marcella was sustained to her new calling this Sunday. She is the Missionary Meal Coordinator! She will be working with us more. She is doing awesome.

Everything else is going great! We’re on week 5 of the transfer, and it’s gone by QUICK! It’s almost my BIRTHDAY! That night were going to go to Applebee’s! with the other Elders and some youth from our ward. A random thing I want to say, my bed is SO comfortable! I have a box spring and two mattresses stacked on each other; I have one of those foam egg thingies and of course the beach sheets! Man, I’m sleeping like a baby these days, I love it!!!

I hope all is going well and I miss you guys so much!!!! You’re in my prayers!

YES I AM STILL ON CLOUD 9

I am still chilling on cloud nine! ha-ha. It’s been great, the feeling of a baptism just gives you more energy and makes you work even harder, its sweet!

My friend Coy, if you remember him, got his mission call to Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh Mission and Austin Maddy is in the MTC! I don’t know where he is going, but he is there! Its sick that everyone is getting out here!

Marcella is doing great. We found out yesterday she is going to have a calling already next week! She is going to be the Meal Coordinator for the Ward (us) ha-ha. She is going to be great at that. She loves her Quad and carries it around everywhere and showing people.

Everything else is going great. We have been teaching some new people. Jervon, he is 18...nothing really to say we will just keep teaching and see how everything goes, and same story with Alton. Krystal has been out of town and will be this week so next week we can get up with her, just she said she liked Stake Conference, but it was overwhelming for her first time going to church, well get her to a regular Sunday and see how she likes it! We have been getting so much food lately from members! There is like no room in our fridge and one member we ate with last night works at some chicken place and said he can get us 10 lbs of chicken next Sunday. Last night we sent us home with 4 chicken breasts to grill up ha-ha. We are getting our meat for sure!AND NOW BBQING THEM UP
Well the work is going well and we’re just trying to get our investigators progressing and make it to the waters of baptism!

I Hope everything is going well at home.

MARCELLA'S BAPTISM

A bonus end-of-week letter from Blake with a Picture and Program from Marcella's Baptism.

So here is the famous Picture! FYI...Marcella chose to take the picture in front of this picture. Marcella is Legit. This picture with a little story will be in the Tarheel this week, hopefully. I'll copy it and send it your way when I get it. Program included as well. Oh yeah...8 months today! I'm 8!! Still so young. I forgot to mention we do service work every Friday at the Rec Center. Its fun, we do maintenance work. It’s like we work there without pay!...It's tight. Bowled a 189 today (p-day). I'm getting up there.

More on Marcella's Baptism in posting below....

ON CLOUD 9 1/2 ALL WEEK! - 8 MONTHS TODAY

First off WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOO Marcella was baptized! It was LEGIT! According to everyone there, I baptized her with authority ha-ha! I just told them, there isn’t going to be a second dunk on my watch. Man it was such a good day. Marcella’s mom was there and she loved it! Everything went perfect. The talks were great and the spirit was there for sure. I’ll be sending the pics and copy of our program to you guys this week! Marcella loved the quad from us and the mom the book you sent. When we gave it to her she was crying a little bit! She was so stoked about it, everyone that came in she would be like "HEY check out my new quad!!" It was way sweet! Marcella called me after she talked to you last night and told me that you loved me and you want pics of the baptism, this made me SO happy last night and she told me you cried ha-ha. The Confirmation went great! Marcella bore her testimony in church on Sunday and it was great! It was the best testimony meeting I have been to in awhile. She did amazing and almost made me tear up. and Bro Lassiter (a less active that we re-activated) bore his testimony for the first time in like 10 years, so that was sick also. Just a great week! I have been on cloud 91/2 all week.
BEST ROAD EVER!

Everything is going great now! Marcella's mom is interested in the hearing more about the Gospel now and so we will start lessons with her shortly and hopefully get her into the fold as well. We have been teaching this lady named Betty. She was a media referral for a Bible, and we told her a little bit about our Church and liked what she heard and told us to come back, and when we did we gave her a Book of Mormon and she almost literally jumped out of her seat and said she was SO excited to start reading it! We will be seeing her up this week! She said she will make it to Church next Sunday! The referral from Jimme, her name is Krystal. Hopefully he got a hold of her so we can teach her more this week and get her to church again!

I hope all is well and know that you're in my prayers every night and day! I miss you guys and I know this church is true and I love doing the Lord's work! HOLLA!!!!!!

Much love from the NC!
