DISTRICT EXCHANGES/PREP FOR MISSIONARY FIRESIDE

Hey fam!!! This week went pretty well! We were on our bikes so we didn’t get to all of our investigators this week, but they are doing well. Our apartments are good, we have three neighbors downstairs that are three older people, and one of them (Willy) she always gives us a hard time and just makes me laugh, she is a good lady! Yeah your Stake Conference Satellite President Thomas S Monson experience sounded AMAZING!!! Well I still have you beat though with meeting and shaking his hand :) haha. jk much love. I wish I could’ve been there to see that for sure.BLAKE ALONG W/WARD YOUNG MEN VISIT WITH PRESIDENT THOMAS S. MONSON 11-07

In couple weeks, Elder Nelson and I are going to be putting on a Missionary Fireside. It is going to be SWEET! We have some legit stuff that we are going to do. We’re making it spiritual and fun; because you know me :) We had a tight lesson with Gladys on Saturday. We reviewed the first lesson with her and talked about our church more, like what to expect when she comes and some other things about it. She said she wouldn’t be able to be there this Sunday, but next weekend she is going to be there! We have been getting up with a lot of potential investigators and seeing if they are still interested and setting up appointments. Let’s just say that we have a busy week ahead of us ha-ha. I’m going on an exchange with our District Leader, Elder Anderson, in Rocky Mount for all of tomorrow and switching back Wednesday at our District meeting, so that will be fun. Elder Anderson is the one who came out with me from the MTC! So this should be fun. Well I’m pumped for this upcoming week! Next Monday you’ll be hearing how all the appointments went :) so be praying for them and that they will accept this message!

SUCH A BUSY WEEK FOR SURE!!

HEY YALL Man, this week, was such a busy week for sure!! We taught a lot of people and met up with a lot of our investigators! Elder Nelson is a cool kid, he likes sports, he is kind of shy at first, but I broke that of course ha-ha. We get along great! Tarboro is fun, we have I think 50-60 members and all of them are funny and good spirited people. We cover Tarboro and a couple little towns nearby like Princeville, Pinetops, Scotland neck, and couple more. Man this week was COLD!; the high was like 60, and raining and windy always staying in the 50's! Luckily we had the car this week :)
(Video) MY HOME IN TARBORO, NC.

So our investigators are doing great! We taught a lot of first lessons this week! A couple 2nd lessons as well. We have the Smith's the mom and daughter are members, but they have like 4 friends that were teaching! Woolard's, the mom is a member, but the kids (5 of them) and the husband are gators! We have Cookie, she is not a member but her husband is. We have a lot of part member families that we are teaching right now. Gladys, a media referral that we taught last week and went great! We have an appointment on Tuesday I think...we have been really busy this week getting to all of these appointments ha-ha. Another lady named Cathy, she is a great lady. Elder Nelson has been trying to get up with her for awhile, and we got up with her and set an appt for the next day (Sunday) and the appointment went GREAT! She understood and we are going back next weekend :) now we just have to get all of them to church and well be rolling large ha-ha.

The missionaries who live close to us are in Rocky Mount, it’s about 20 minutes away. One of them is Elder Anderson, I came out with him out of the MTC, so it’s fun! Rocky Mount is where we get all of our P-Day hook-ups; free Wendy’s and golf! We get free 18 holes, free clubs, balls, tees, golf cart! I’m LOVIN IT! Today is perfect weather; it’s about 60-65 degrees! :) P-Day @ The golf course is called Northgreen Country Club. the owner is a member and who the rocky mount elders live with. There is this guy who is teaching us some stuff about golf, his name is Coach Z. He is funny and cracks me up, but man, he knows his golf LEGIT! He taught me a lot of stuff already. Taught us how to approach the ball and hit it, and it works, how to hit out of the sand, I’m pro ha-ha. He knows his stuff! And those lessons are free as well.

I love you guys so much and I miss you!!!!

HELLO FROM TARBORO NC

Alright, I’m in Tarboro!!! It’s a small town and very slow going ya know. The mission work here is doing great! We should be able to baptize like 5 people this transfer if everything goes to plan!!! My companion is Elder Nelson. He is from Orem Utah but his fam moved out to Nebraska on his mish. He has been out 23 months so I will only be with him this last transfer then he goes home. So i get to "kill him" (send him home from the mission field) ha-ha; like I did with Elder Svoboda. In Tarboro we have a branch here, so the building is very small. The chapel is all on one flat level, no steeples or whatever, just a pulpit and table. The size of the chapel is if you put 2 of the Relief Society rooms together back in T-ville. I love it! I have pretty much already met everyone in the branch ha-ha. However I haven’t met President King, the Branch President. He has been out of town and sometime this week we’re going over to meet him.

So check this out! Every p-day, we get free Wendy’s and free 18 holes of golf!! SICK WIT IT! A church member in Rocky Mount owns the golf course and another member from Virginia owns the Wendy’s in Rocky Mount.

I have only met couple of our investigators and I still haven’t met our main ones. One of them, the ………family, we just need to set a date with him and he will be good to go, and his children as well, so we're getting a family :) The members here are cool, we have a lot of exchanges and the spirit from this little branch is HUGE! The missionary work in the Branch is exploding right now. We have so many member referrals right now I don’t know what to do with them. Ha-ha, Except teach them. After this week I will most likely have more info on our investigators and their situation. There are a lot of recent converts that we meet with too. The Mulstay's are converts from a year ago and are going to the Temple soon. They also feed us every Wednesday, Sister Mulstay , she is our mom pretty much ha-ha. She makes BOMB food! We’re having steaks tonight at their house :)

To answer your question…The other elder that I know from SLC is Elder Koehler, I have talked about him a couple times. He was in my same district back in Cary. He went to Alta and played basketball. Yes what you heard is true! Missionaries are allowed to go to the Temple if your convert goes through a year later! So next September I will get to go with Marcella!

General Conference (Missionary Super-Bowl) the one talk that stood out to me of course was Elder Jeffery R. Holland’s; he just laid down the law! Elder Hales was sweet! He bore a really sweet testimony that I loved! Can’t wait to read and study the talks in the Ensign.

I love you guys so much and hope all is going well with you!

SWEET WEEK & TRANSFER ON TUESDAY

This week has been sweet especially with General Conference aka the Missionary Superbowl!! LUNCH IN-BETWEEN GENERAL CONFERENCE SESSIONS
I received the news on Friday...I am being transferred on Tuesday...so I will be emailing from a new place next Monday!!! I’m in a bitter sweet mode right now, I felt like I still had more to do here in Goldsboro. A change is always great and it’s what the Lord wants me to do, so I’m stoked!

Holly CRAP! The birthday present was LEGIT! I freaked out over the Happy Birthday photo book thing of friends and neighbors! My Birthday went great! I have some pictures to send.
ALL THINGS BIRTHDAY! The week went pretty good! We hit up some media referrals, one of which was we are thinking may have been set up, but not 100% sure. This guy named Vern ordered a Restoration DVD and we went over and watched it, and right when we walked in some guy was just chilling on the couch, so we knew right away he was some kind of church clergyman...but he didn’t say. After we viewed the DVD he asked questions and we answered and taught them. I gave an answer that was bold about how we have the only true authority from Jesus Christ. He was way nice though, he commended me for my boldness and said "I’m glad you were bold, if you weren’t I would’ve told you to turn in your tie and badge" ha-ha so that was cool. We just taught him some stuff he didn’t know about LDS but all went chill.

Everything else is going well. I’ll be in a new place next Monday with new investigators and new stories to tell. I’m STOKED!
