CHRISTMAS WAS GREAT & DISTRICT LEADER OF THE TARBORO DISTRICT
First off, it was amazing to talk to ya’ll on Christmas! I was so stoked to hear your voices and just be happy talking to ya’ll :)
Elder Anderson is being transferred :( I’ll miss him, but he has been in Rocky Mount for like 71/2 months, so it was time. With him being our District Leader, someone needed to take his spot. On Christmas Eve we were at Tiffany's house, about to leave, and I get a call from President Cotterell, and he extended the call to be District Leader! I accepted and so now you're looking at the new District Leader of the Tarboro District.

Christmas was GREAT! Christmas Eve day we had a District meeting and afterwards went out to eat at Hibachi and hung out a little bit, then we went Caroling! We sang it at some members’ houses and just random people while walking through downtown Rocky Mount. It was fun! Then around 5ish we headed up to Tiffany's for dinner and chill time. It was fun. There were 6 of us elders. Since Elder Anderson ( Blake and Elder Anderson where in the MTC and came out together) knew he was being transferred, we decided to burn our shirts for our ONE-YEAR mark, which is Jan 7. I hope you will enjoy that video and pics when you get them :)
Christmas day was AMAZING! I loved all the gifts that I got from everyone! Jill and Ryan, I already rocked the two ties, and the paisley one got a lot of compliments on Sunday :) HOLLA! We had two dinners that day with the Beckwiths for lunch and then ate at the Mulstays for dinner that evening after we made the phone calls at the Bass’s. and we chilled at the Gossers for a little bit and talked to them.

MY CHRISTMAS GIFTS(Thank You)
Not much went on with our investigators this week. All of them were busy and out of town, so we did not get up with any of them. We called them up and wished them a Merry Christmas though. This week will be the week to get up with them. It’s a new transfer and a new year, so Elder Nielsen and I are ready to work like mad to get a whole lot of investigators.
All right, it's story time :) Yesterday was a first in my life...I went to an all black funeral!!! Elder Nielsen, I and Brother Scott, were the only 3 white people there out of like 260 people!! Man let me tell you...they love to praise Jesus in their way ha-ha. A lady that sat in front of us was getting up like every 30 seconds and dancing and raisin her arms. I will say….I do like the Baptist choir, they sound great! But man the preacher who did the final words, wow...this guy was like 5'4 and skinny, but MAN he can YELL. When people preach down here, they do it with ALL they got. I thought he was going to break a blood vessel ha-ha. Yellin’ at the top of his lungs, stompin’ on the stage and slappin’ the pulpit, man it was crazy. Brother Scott said this one wasn’t actually that bad, he said some have been so bad that he had to leave because the spirit was not there at all. It was definitely a great experience, and I’m glad I went and it was definitely a testimony builder ha-ha. But for real it was.
Today it is nice weather so you know what that means...tee off!!! Well my beautiful family I love you and I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ! Jesus Christ and heavenly father lives and loves all of us! The Book of Mormon is the word of god, how could it not be, it answers any questions that we'll ever have. It’s amazing. Thomas s Monson is the Prophet Seer and Revelator for our church and for Jesus Christ, his counsel and guidance comes straight from a loving Father in Heaven and his Son.
I love all of ya’ll and miss you.
Much love,
Elder Henricksen

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YA'LL & SINGING CHOIR OF ANGELS
This week has been COLD!! It actually kind of snowed one day, it was really light though, and of course didn’t stick at all. Thankfully we had the car this week! We had Christmas Zone Conference this week on Thursday in Kinston, it was great. It was a normal Zone Conference for the first little bit, then the Christmas program came in and it was wonderful ha-ha. As you saw on the blog, each Zone picked a Christmas hymn and sang it in front of the other missionaries. This YouTube video was sent to us from President and Sister Coterell (Blake is front row 2nd one in from the left)
What a Great spiritual experience. After the Zone Conference we took all our packages (mailed from home to the Mission office)out to our ride’s car. I set my stuff down and went back inside, and came back out and everything was in the car so we got in the car and headed home. Once we got to Tarboro (hour and a half drive) somehow my backpack didn’t make it...I was FREAKIN out, because in my backpack was my camera, preach my gospel, scriptures, quote book, gift from President and Sister Cotterell (including fudge that Sister Cotterell made) and Elder Anderson's tie. so I was pretty upset, we all said a prayer and later that night the Ap's called and said they had it. ALLELUIA!! I will get it back Wednesday! It stinks though without a camera, we have seen some sick houses that are lit up!
Well investigator wise, not much happened this week and probably not much will be happening this week. A lot of our investigators were teaching are either out of town or busy with the holidays. We got up with some though...had a good lesson with Mike, we taught half of the 3rd lesson with him, and slowly progressing along ya know. We were tracting one night in some apartments, and some lady (Jamie) invited us in and we talked to her for like 45 mins about what we do and some cool little beliefs of our church like No paid ministry, baptism, what we as missionaries do, and all that stuff. We are going back next Monday, again she is busy with the holidays so next Monday haha. That was a cool experience we had though.
Well my wonderful cute family, I hope all is well and I wish a Merry Christmas to ya'll and hope you feel the amazing spirit that comes with the Holiday :) I get to talk to you in 4 DAYS!!! Until then PEACE!

THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS IS IN THE AIR!
Well...its almost Christmas!! Its sweet while tracting and contacting people to start saying Merry Christmas! I love it, the spirit is in the air and I love sipping on my hot coco every night while looking at the Christmas tree and listening to SISSEL singing with the Mo Tab…WOOOO!!! This week is our special Christmas Zone Conference, so we will be picking up our gifts that have been sent.
OUR CHRISTMAS TREE
Last week went well, interviews with President Cotterell went great. He said that I am doing very well and I have trained Elder Nielsen well :) I’m a proud daddy. Only challenge he gave me was to keep the area book updated and looking good. Yes this week at Zone Conference I’ll get a picture with President and Sister Cotterell.
This week went alright with our investigators. A lot of them went out of town, and well be getting up with them this week. We had a lesson with Mike again, and Mary Ann (his wife) made breakfast for us; biscuits and sausage gravy, it was SOO GOOD! The lesson went alright, we only had like 45 minutes; which with Mike isn’t long enough ha-ha. We didn’t get to the lesson we had planned, but we are on Tuesday night. WE have been tracting some apartments lately, and we have found a lot of sweet people from them. On of them, Jamie, we have an appointment with tonight, and three other people told us to stop by this week. Hopefully this week will be busy. We are still teaching Jemia's husband Tim, we are going over on Wednesday to teach him, and maybe set a baptismal date with him, well see though. This week should be a good one and well still continue to find people to teach always!!
It has been cold last week, Friday was SOOO COLD! My hands were frozen to the handle bars, even with the gloves, that’s why im asking for the new ones (read below). But its missionary life ha-ha. Have to come what may and love it!
Well my adorable family, I love and miss ya'll so much and I hope everything goes well this week, and im looking forward to hittin ya’ll up next Monday!
Much Love,
Elder Henricksen

BUSY INVESTIGATOR WEEK! & A 1st FOR ME, GOLF IN DECERMBER.
Hey WHAT’S UP!!! How is it going over yonder out west? I went on another exchange with Elder Anderson on Monday. He came here to Tarboro. That was fun. We LOVE SISSEL!! We listened to her with the MoTab Choir all day! Check it, on Saturday we were walking to Food Lion to buy some stuff and then go tract some houses and we found some yard sale in a building so we checked it out to find some ties, you know us missionaries and our ties!
I bought six old school polyester ties!!! They are SICK and only 50 cents a pop!
We have interviews tomorrow with President Cotterell, so were spending the night in Rocky Mount because they start early! Investigators...so this week we met up with a lot of our investigators. With Mike we had an emotional lesson...not good emotional kind of weird. We questioned him a lot so we could understand where he is at as far as interested in the church. He still is interested and so we will keep teaching him! The lesson did go well; we still need to get him past the finding answers from his own knowledge to spiritual feelings. We invited out to the First Presidency Christmas Devotional last night and he came! Pres Uchtdorf's talk was MONEY for Mike! I hope he really takes it to heart and paid attention. There is a recent convert Jemia in our branch and we are now teaching her non-member husband Tim. We had a good lesson on Saturday with him, so we're stoked for him! Cool Story!!...Wille (our downstairs neighbor) has a daughter named Deborah, and one night she asked us for help with her homework for some radiology class, she needed to talk to different people of different cultures so she talked to us, and we got started on talking about religion and she told us how church should be and everything she said is in our church!!! I told her that and we gave her three pamphlets and she wants to come to church once, so hopefully this weekend she will! That was a cool story :) We found this kid named Matthew, he's 20 and we tracted into him and he was very interested in the Book of Mormon, and he invited us in and we taught a brief lesson and were going back sometime this week!! He is tight. He’s a baller! (Basketball) oh and on Sunday Erik and Christian came to church!! We taught them once when Elder Nelson was still here and they never came and then they came yesterday!! We’re going back tomorrow and teaching them :)
That is legit about the Workman Nydegger Candy Cane Tree that is so much stuff for kids who really need it. As we approach people who are on the poorer side, this has definitely made me think of life differently. I love it here in Tarboro; the people are way nice and loving. I did get the North Carolina ornament, and I will be sending it your way. Well this is the first and probably last time I get to say this but...I will be golfing in December! It’s pretty nice weather today it’s like 60...but its golfing weather!
THE FEARSOME FOURSOME!
I miss and love you guys so much and I hope everything is going well!
